Ákos Czigány is a crucial figure of the contemporary Hungarian photography scene, who has been represented by Nessim Gallery since 2009, and Várfok Gallery since 2014. His work fuses conceptual, constructivist and documentarian traits. In 2010, the series Egek: hommage à Hiroshi Sugimotowon him the Lucien and Rodolf Hervé Prize, and the 3rd Prize of IPA; in 2011 it was acknowledged with the 2nd Prize and Special Prize of FRAME011 at Leica gallery, Prague. He has been featured at exhibitions abroad (Paris, Torino, Frankfurt, Prague, Würzburg) and Hungary (Hungarian National Gallery, Mai Manó House, Szent István Király Museum). His works in public collections: Hungarian Museum of Photography, Szent István Király Museum (Székesfehérvár).
