He received his first camera at the age of six, and has been taking photos ever since. Following stints as a gardener, surgery assistant and photo lab technician, he began to work for the daily press in 1987, starting as a technician, and going on to be a press photographer and picture editor. He has been a freelance press photographer since 2001. Selected prizes: Balogh Rudolf Prize, Joseph Pulitzer Memorial Prize, World Press Photo Awards (twice), Hungarian Press Photography Competition awards (11 times).
